RAIN, CAN YOU WASH MY FAITH AWAY?

She was numb! She was not thinking, she stood all lifeless. She kept looking down to the ground. A fragile body drenched in water, all cold and red eyes. It was raining since afternoon. When she had left home, it was all sunny and bright. She was elated with the sunshine falling on her face. She was happy inside that was reflecting on the outside. Feelings are the most absurd things. You can never assure yourself of which feeling would stay in and which is going to be replaced in fraction of seconds. The day started with sunshine and little she knew that this sunshine will be covered by the raging clouds and then it will be all dark with pouring water. She was a fool to not carry her umbrella today because she trusted something that she should not have trusted. No! its not the nature, and yes not the clouds also and not even the sunshine. She trusted her feelings which radiated happiness just like sunshine. She felt sure in heart that it was going to be a bright day! She was fooled by another trick of nature. Sun shines on you but has it ever promised, I will shine forever? When it was afternoon, she saw the grey clouds overpowering the sun and finally it seemed the clouds had engulfed the sun and now they were roaring loud with their achievement to have managed to engulf the sun with its shine and the happiness. Slowly, the sky grew dark and it started pouring hard. She did not run away to hide herself and save her from the water. She stood there looking up preparing herself for the pouring rain. She could not and did not want to escape. She wanted to face it all. She wanted to face the water drops pouring hard against her face. The thrust of water slowly bent her head down. She stood all drenched in the dark in the pouring rain. It was cold but she was colder inside. Feelings should never be trusted. What she thought was going to last for the day, vanished in just a few hours. She looked down, she felt betrayed and felt frustrated and slowly the frustration mellowed to give way to tears that flowed out to the ground mixed in the rain water. How easily we believe the happy feelings that come in life. We are almost certain every time that this feeling is going to last a lifetime but little do we know life is like weather. It changes abruptly. You will not even sense the clouds or the thunder. Everything is so sudden that it leaves you startled. The rain washes away the dirt from the earth but this rain was incapable of washing her own thoughts. It was not easy and it never has been easy. The rain poured hard on her. She stood cold and drenched and fists rolled inside her coat. She was yearning that the rains wash the pain away form her life and provide her relief from the burden. She felt sad to have fallen for the same games of life. She had loved today and she was refused today. She believed and was betrayed today! She stood yet she was dead today!
